Responsive Website Design (RWD)
RWD uses the following methods:
1) Fluid grids, where elements are resized through the use of relative units, like percentages, versus absolute units, like standard measurements and pixels
2) Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) media queries, which allow a website to determine device type, screen size and browser capabilities, for mobile devices such as tablets or phones.
3) Server-side components with media queries, which enable faster loading websites - even with slower cellular data speeds
According to W3C.org HTML and CSS are the fundamental technologies for building Web pages: HTML (html and xhtml) for structure, CSS for style and layout, including WebFonts. Find resources for good Web page design as well as helpful tools.
HTML (the Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are two of the core technologies for building Web pages. HTML provides the structure of the page, CSS the (visual and aural) layout, for a variety of devices. Along with graphics and scripting, HTML and CSS are the basis of building Web pages and Web Applications. Learn more below about:
I am sure you, just like me have been on a website that has been poorly designed, frustrating and impossible to navigate. When I find myself on a website like this, I just leave the page and search again. Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines feel the same way. This is why they gravitate toward quality design and well written "Relevant" text along with ease of navigation. The website must be inline with the requirements of the major search engines (google, bing/yahoo) as well as W3C.org.
Mobile Website Design
Years ago when I had my first phone with internet capability, I was excited and pulled up a website on the screen of my phone. The web page was the size of a computer screen, and of course my phone screen was just a few inches wide, this did not work. This led to Mobile Design. Basically this is websites that will automatically fit any screen that views them. Since the introduction of tablets this capability is a must. Mobile website design is also very important with Search Engine Optimization. It seems that Google, Bing/Yahoo and other search engines will not rank websites that are not mobile friendly. Wilkins Management LLC designs each of our website with mobile capabilities to ensure that the user can have the most productive and enjoyable experience on the website. It is also absolutely necessary for the purpose of Search Engine Optimization (S.E.O.).
Website Design & SEO
The following methods are important in the design of a website and Search Engine Optimization (S.E.O.) These methods are called white hat
SEO because they aim to improve search rank by improving the user’s experience on the website. 1) Increasing Keyword Depth, 2) Improving the
websites "On Page SEO" or its page content. While building a website, it is very important to ensure that the images are tagged correctly
with proper descriptions, that all of the links on a page and from page to page are complete and not broken. It is very important to
have quality and relevant content that is important to the site visitor and to never plagiarize another website. These are just some
of the aspects of Website Design and "SEO". It is very important to use only "White Hat SEO" techniques when building a website. White
Hat SEO simply means building a website that conforms to the standards laid out by W3C.org, Google, Bing/Yahoo with no "Tricks" that will gain
instant 1st page results. White Hat is a reference to old western movies where the good guy wore a white hat, and of course the bad guy
wore a black hat. Black Hat SEO will get your website banned by the search engines. You may see 1st page results immediately, but then
Google, bing and yahoo will ban you "Forever". It just is not worth it. There is also "Grey Hat SEO". Grey Hat is Black Hat SEO trying to sound
like it is not Black Hat, do not trust it. White Hat SEO is the only way to build a website to ensure that it gives the user a quality experience
and to gain the trust of the search engines.
